NOTE:  Page under construction...
*Please check out this page in the near future, and as we develop our rescue!*
Please note that we do not have all of the paperwork posted here for privacy reasons, but we do have our 990-N postcards filed, as information typically provided by nonprofit rescue corporations.

While we don't post these online, we also require all volunteers, participants, and riders to:
  • Provide name and contact information for emergency use -- for ALL activities at Ups & Downs Acres
  • Provide proof of private medical insurance -- for ALL activities at Ups & Downs Acres
  • Read and fill out a waiver of liability -- for ALL activities at Ups & Downs Acres
  • Read and understand our Barn Rules and safety procedures
  • Wear appropriate footwear (closed-toed boots with a one inch heel) and protective clothing (relative to weather, etc.) -- NO SNEAKERS!
  • Wear protective helmets when riding or driving -- there is NO option on helmets. You must wear a well-fitting, horse-sport helmet if you want to participate in riding activities at Ups & Downs Acres.

Appropriate forms and information will be provided to volunteers and participants when they arrive at Ups & Downs Acres, and annually thereafter, for each year the volunteer or participant continues at Ups & Downs Acres.

For volunteers:
  - Regular and Routine Volunteers:  We ask you to commit to a regular schedule, when possible, and for at least 3 months at a time.
  •  This applies to routine activities, such as: feeders, stall cleaners, groomers, repair and maintenance (especially painting/staining wood, and other summer activities that can be done over several weeks), etc.
  - Short-Term Volunteers/Projects:  We also have short-term volunteer opportunities, like construction projects, making and bringing in the hay, etc.
  • These jobs come up fast and furious, so keep an eye on our "News" page.
  • Also, if you want to get on a list of folks we can contact as projects come up, please contact us!
   - Want to find out more?  To see how you can volunteer, donate, or for other irregular activities, please see "How Can You Help?" page.

For riders:
    - We ask that you coordinate the days you would like to ride (via volunteer credit), and ensure that the horse you prefer is available ahead of time.
    - Absolutely no unsupervised riding is permitted at Ups & Downs Acres.
    - Priority will be made for regular participants/volunteers over drop-ins.
